FRLP Proposal Community

Direct County development to areas contiguous with Front Royal or rural villages that are served or will be served with adequate public facilities such as roads, sewer, and water, and 2.) Limit future suburban sprawl in rural and agricultural areas where adequate public facilities do not exist or where their provision would not be cost-efficient."

FRLP community highlights include:

  • The FRLP project includes over 45 acres of active and passive Community open spaces, walking and biking trails, and a fully constructed and dedicated public park facility (for the entire community) with a playground, basketball court, and multi-purpose athletic field, and up to 1.75 miles of constructed trail network.

  • Growth pays its fair share. Over 5.5 million dollars in improvements to the local transportation network that will help attract high paying jobs to the community and greatly improve safety of all vehicular traffic using Happy Creek Road and 606.

  • Consistent with 30 years of Community Planning for the area.

  • Energy Star Qualified Homes. Constructing a community of 100 Energy Star qualified homes is the equivalent to saving the environment 580,000 lbs of Carbon Dioxide per year (www.energystar.gov).

  • Earth Friendly Neighborhood Design and Development, to the extent permitted. Green Infrastructure.

  • Investments in Planned Neighborhoods and Infrastructure = Increased Economic Development Opportunities.
